Public Enemy is one of those special groups that his withstood the test of time and doesn’t seem much worse for the wear.

Formed in 1982 in Long Island, NY, Professor Griff, Chuck D, Flavor Flav and Terminator X have been rhyming about politics, society and  culture for over 25 years, while pushing the boundaries of lyrics and music as well.

80/35 Preview - Man Man

It is highly unlikely that there is a more experimental or adventuresome band at this year’s 80-35 festival than Man Man.  They’ve been described as “Viking-vaudeville, manic Gypsy jazz,” but as soon as you attempt to label them, they seem to pull something new from out of their musical sleeves.  They sometimes sound like what would happen if Tom Waits was in a car crash with a New Orleans brass band on the way to a circus, but sometimes not.

Bring the Entire Family Down to 80/35 – Dahls Kids Zone Entertainment Announced

The second annual 80/35 music festival on July 3 and 4 in downtown Des Moines packs in the fun for the entire family. The 80/35 Dahl’s Kids Zone has been expanded this year to include some of Central Iowa’s best children’s performers, an inflatable play area and several interactive activities. Best of all, the 80/35 Kid Zone is free, no festival ticket is needed to participate in the fun.

80/35 High School Play In Winner: Buster and the Punks

Seven high school bands competed last night in DM Palooza at People’s Court for a slot in the 80/35 music festival alongside industry giants like Public Enemy and Ben Harper. The winning band, Buster and the Punks from Urbandale will perform on Friday, July 3rd at 4pm on the Mediacom East Stage.
