Tina Haase Findlay and husband Brandon Findlay’s newest musical manifestation comes in the form of Diva & The Deacons (formerly Bella Soul). Tina is a local blues and jazz vocalist legend, and she brings her signature stage presence and swag to Diva & the Deacons.
The band’s freewheelin’ style means you’ll never know which direction they’ll go. Diva & the Deacons are lucky in that they are skilled enough to pull off the fluidity of genres. On the band’s Facebook page Tina describes their sound as ”Blues, rock and soul meets jazz, jam and gospel — theatre, jingles, ragtime and whatever the heck we feel like throwing in!” Combined with the band’s propensity to invite different musicians to play a show with them, each performance is unique. Whichever direction the band goes, it’s a good one as long as Tina’s wielding the microphone.
