The 11th Annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 28th in the East Village! The main stage will be at Wooly’s with performances and pop-up shows hosted in other spaces throughout the neighborhood. Approximately 14 local artists will perform and two of these spots will be selected through an online survey.

If you’d like to be considered for one of these two spots, submit a song to the event’s Director Ben Croghan by emailing The song must be an MP3 and include the song name and artist name in the file as follows: SONGNAME_ARTISTNAME.mp3

Submissions are due by Sunday, February 14th at 5pm. Songs will be posted for public consideration on Monday, February 15th with the survey closing on Thursday, February 25th at 5pm. The selected artists, along with the full lineup for GDP, will be announced at the Des Moines Music Coalition’s Backstage Ball on Friday, February 26th and posted on the GDP event page.

For GDP 2016, our goals have been to increase the diversity of genres in our lineup and to be a more grassroots, community-run event. Stay tuned for volunteer opportunities and other ways to get involved.
