DMMC Outreach Coordinator

Start Date – April 2015 (20 hours per week – paid position)

The Des Moines Music Coalition Outreach Coordinator will act as the primary office and outreach staff for the DMMC. Possessing strong organization and communications skills, this individual will respond to e-mail correspondence, manage the DMMC administrative functions and help to coordinate events with Board and committee members and volunteers. This is a paid position.

This person will report to the Executive Committee of the DMMC’s Board of Directors.

Other duties shall include:

  • Marketing Support – under direction of DMMC Marketing Committee
    • Coordinate implement regular social media communications
      Implement various elements of DMMC marketing
      Assist with event marketing as requested by Program Managers
      Keep website updated with marketing, programming, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Communications
    • Respond to email and phone communications
      Respond to social media communications
      Keep master calendar of DMMC events updated on website
      Ensure board and committee members are aware of meetings and events
  • Volunteer Coordination
    • Tracking volunteer resources and engaging new volunteers in programming and committees
      Coordinate communications with volunteer committees and and assist with event volunteer coordination.
  • Community Engagement
    • Implement quarterly “DMMC 101” events to engage new community members
      Represent DMMC events as requested by the Executive Committee
      Organize artist outreach programs as developed by the board (forums, classes, etc)
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Hold regular office hours at DMMC office
      Keep DMMC assets at office organized
  • Assist contracted staff members with event specific tasks as requested
    • 80/35 Music Festival
      Fundraising activities and annual event: Backstage Ball
      Gross Domestic Product, Little Big Fest, Music University
      Youth Summer Camp
