The 12th Annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th in downtown Des Moines! The main stage will be at Vaudeville Mews with performances hosted in other spaces throughout the area. Approximately 20 local artists will perform and three of these spots will be community-selected through an online survey.

If you’d like to be considered for one of these three spots, please submit an original song to GDP Director Ben Croghan by emailing benrcroghan@gmail.comThe song must be an MP3 and include the song name and artist name in the file name as follows: SONGNAME_ARTISTNAME.mp3

Submissions are due by Friday, January 27th at 5:00pm. Songs will be posted for public consideration on Monday, January 30th with the survey closing on Friday, February 10th at 5pm. The selected artists will be announced on Tuesday, February 14th.

For GDP 2017, we are striving to increase diversity in our lineup and to be a more grassroots, community-run event. GDP is designed to function as an artist development opportunity in support of Iowa musicians by helping local acts build their audience and by increasing exposure across genres. Stay tuned for volunteer opportunities and other ways to get involved.
