Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars have since become one of Africa’s top touring and recording bands, travelling the world with their infectious and complex dance music. Their inspiring story and rise to international acclaim has been chronicled in a documentary film about them. The band is currently on a world tour in support of its third full-length album, “Salone.”

 

Despite being witness to atrocities, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars spreads a positive message through their music.

 

The show begins at 8 p.m. at DG’s Tap House in Ames on Monday, June 4. Tickets cost $10 in advance through Midwestix here, or $12 at the door.
