Jean-Marie Salem Project

Playing the guitar and writing songs since she was five years old, Jean-Marie Salem’s music is a collection of exotic lyrics and sounds that move you and will stick with you all day. Singer/Songwriter Jean-Marie Salem’s music has evolved into a sound that is blues, jazz, folk, rockabilly, samba and “diddly doo’s” influenced by Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Bettye Lavette, her lyrics tell you a story. She continues to learn and perform with a variety of local talented musicians and projects. Her latest project is a mix heavy on her original music (Bending Fate, Feed the Soul) and her own version of covers (John Lee Hooker, Carly Simon) enhanced with the chemistry of a cajon, a banjo, steel and acoustic guitar. Jean-Marie describes her music as “allowing listeners to focus on what they want out of life by opening up their soul to achieve their life dream. I want people to succeed and be happy.”
