The Ames band Mumford’s began as a solo project for Nate Logsdon in the summer of 2008 and has expanded into a wild freak-folk storyteller dance band with horns that has become an institution amongst music fans all over the country. The band’s live shows are like no other you have ever experienced, once Logsdon rips his shirt off, and pumps his fist into the air, you know you’re about to party.

You may remember when Mumford’s married the music scenes of Ames and Des Moines together at 80/35 a few years back, or last year at the festival when lead singer Logsdon proposed to Adrien Daller of the band Trouble Lights.  You never quite know what is going to happen when Mumford’s take the stage, but one thing is for certain, it’s always mind-blowing and memorable.

Little Big Fest will be the first opportunity to experience another side of the band, as it releases it’s new double LP Immediate Family.

Immediate Family is an album of epic narrative ballads that tell excruciating, bizarre and funny stories about characters caught up in obsession and disgust and self-delusion and hate, but also sometimes in understanding and forgiveness and self-expression and love! It’s a very strange and beautiful record and it’s unlike anything the band has ever done before.  Mumford’s will be playing at House of Bricks as a part of Little Big Fest on November 15th.  You won’t want to miss it.

Mumford’s plays at Little Big Fest on November 15th at House of Bricks at 10:30pm.
