An exciting thing about the live shows of jam bands is the improvisational nature of each song. A talented band can flow in and out of different parts of songs that maybe aren’t in the recording that you’ve heard of the song, giving out something fresh and exciting for that certain live performance.

Enter the Aquamarine Dream Machine. A group of friends that boasts a unique journey for their live shows that is “influenced by the vibe of the crowd and the individuals of the band”, as to create room to freely change their pieces of music and to attempt new things.

This, of course, brings a wide range of music to ADM. Songs like “Blur the Lines” and “Long Time Coming” have driving rhythm tracks that will keep you hooked but a song like “Coming Closer” has a very full sound, weaving from ambience and chaos that invites you to get lost in the dream machine. Ok, I wasn’t going to say that but that’s what it is. I find myself staring off while listening and not really gravitating towards an individual part but just hearing the entire song as a whole.

Aquamarine Dream Machine has toured all of the Midwest and will be joining many of their fellow Midwest bands this Friday for Little Big Fest 2013. The band is currently working on material for their second album with plans to release it next year.

Be sure to catch Aquamarine Dream Machine at House of Bricks at 6:30pm at this year’s Little Big Fest.
