The Greater Des Moines Music Coalition (DMMC) and Civic Music Association (CMA) are excited to announce the full lineup that will be playing in this year’s 8th Annual Little BIG Fest, taking place on Friday, November 15 at Wooly’s (504 East Locust Street, Des Moines, IA 50309), House of Bricks (525 East Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309), and Beechwood Lounge (416 E Walnut St, Des Moines, IA 50309). BUY DISCOUNT ALL-ACCESS PASSES HERE.

This year’s festival features 17 performances by 15 local acts, headliner The Soul Rebels from New Orleans, and a workshop group who will work with The Soul Rebels earlier in the day. This year also marks the first time the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition has collaborated with another nonprofit organization to produce Little BIG Fest.

The Soul Rebels are an eight-piece New Orleans based brass ensemble that incorporate elements of soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock and pop music. The band has been described by the Village Voice as “the missing link between Public Enemy and Louis Armstrong.” Since we brought Public Enemy into town a few years back for 80/35 and we wish we could bring Louis Armstrong to Des Moines, we figure it makes sense to have the Soul Rebels swing by! Watch this video to get a feel for what the group is all about:
