Little BIG Fest is an annual festival featuring roots, country, singer-songwriter, bluegrass, blues, jazz, and soul music. The goal of LBF 2017 is to showcase women successful in the music industry and to spark the imagination of other talented female musicians of all ages in Des Moines. LBF’s vision is to grow the number of women playing music in Iowa and for the music industry to embrace women as music festival headliners.

As with all DMMC events, local bands are heavily featured, though bands from around the U.S. also perform at the event. Established in fall 2006, LBF has featured over a dozen bands each year, including Trampled by Turtles, Pieta Brown, The Soul Rebels, William Elliott Whitmore, Charlie Parr, and John Fullbright.

LBF is organized by the nonprofit the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition. LBF 2017 is made possible with generous support from Meredith, Iowa Taproom, Yelp DSM, West Music, Bravo Greater Des Moines, Saturday Mfg., Vital Signs Display Graphics, VolunteerLocal, and Des Moines Social Club.
