You can be the life of the party.

We’re looking for energetic music fans to help make 80/35 the biggest party in Des Moines this year. Organized by the non-profit Des Moines Music Coalition, 80/35 requires hundreds of dedicated people (like you!) to pull it all together.

Volunteer shifts last 4-5 hours and activities range from checking wristbands to selling drink tickets. Volunteers will get an official 80/35 staff shirt and a FREE ticket for the day you volunteer. Sign up right now, right here http://80-35.com/volunteer.

Tuesdays are sweet, too!

Kum & Go is giving away FREE sets of 80/35 2-day passes June 12, 19, 26 and July 3. Find out more about the Ticket Tuesday contest at www.kumandgo.com/ticket-tuesday or by following Kum & Go on Twitter at www.twitter.com/kumandgo.

Which Iowa band will play the main stage? Drum roll, please.

Thanks to Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and Iowa Public Radio’s Studio One, three Iowa bands have secured a spot on the 80/35 lineup. Now it’s time to decide who takes the main stage.

Semi-finalists Holy White Hounds, Love Songs for Lonely Monsters and Seedlings will perform in front of a live audience at the Gas Lamp, June 21 at 6 p.m. to determine the top act that will play on the Wellmark Main Stage. Second and third place winners will each play a set on the free stages. That sounds like win-win-win to us.

Get details, RSVP and spread the word via the Facebook event.
