And the Play In winner is…

Three Iowa bands performed at the Gas Lamp June 21 to determine the top act to play on the Wellmark Main Stage. And the winner iiiiiis: Love Songs for Lonely Monsters! Holy White Hounds and Seedlings will play on the Hy-Vee Triathlon stage as well. Congratulations to all! And hearty thanks to Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and Iowa Public Radio’s Studio One for making the contest possible.

The music can’t won’t don’t stop.

A party as sweet as 80/35 isn’t over until you say it’s over. In fact, the music keeps right on going at different venues across the city into the wee hours. So you can continue to revel in musical bliss until you can revel no more. Here are a few of the hot spots.

Last chance to buy regular price tickets.

This is your official notice. There are only a few days left to save on tickets before the prices go up the day of the fest. Get your tickets right now and save your cash to pick up a few party favors at the fest.

Speaking of party favors, we’ve got the goods.

Of course you want to remember the best party of the year. And you can’t rely on your brain for that. So, it just makes sense to purchase a gift for yourself from the merch tent. Maybe a shirt. Or a button. Or a keychain. Bring a dollar or two so you don’t have a make a difficult decision.

For your viewing pleasure.

Picture, if you will, a grown man with a plastic bat walloping a giant cake-shaped piñata full of candy to the tune of…you know what? Words cannot describe. Just watch it yourself.

Watch as Jam Band Guy and Indie Rock Chick prepare for the 80/35 music festival.
