The 9th Annual Gross Domestic Product has been scheduled for Saturday, April 12th in the East Village. Main stages will be held at Wooly’s and House of Bricks, with performances and pop-up shows happening in other spaces throughout the neighborhood. Between 15-20 local musical artists will perform; three of those spots will be selected through an online vote.

If you’d like to be considered for one of these spots, submit a song to the event’s Volunteer Director Angela Rauch by emailing angela@desmoinesmc.com. The song must be an MP3 and include the song name and artist name in the file as follows: SONGNAME_ARTISTNAME.mp3

Submissions are due by Sunday, February 23rd at 5pm. Songs will be posted for public vote on Monday, February 24th. The voting results will be tallied and the selected artists, along with the full lineup for Gross Domestic Product, will be announced at the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition’s Backstage Ball on Friday, February 28th.

Gross Domestic Product specifically aims to highlight those original artists in our community who are working to promote their music through recordings, music videos, online marketing, touring, and more, and have been particularly active in the last year.
